Blake Shelton did a new interview last week and talked about how much he liked Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. He commented that Kelce has a "big personality" that draws people to him.

Shelton told The Pat McAfee Show, "He’s a standout no matter where he is or what he’s doing. He’s just got this big personality. He’s a funny guy. He walks into the room, and he has a presence there, so there’s never going to be that moment where he’s in the shadows anyway just because of his charisma and his personality anyway."

He added, "He just kind of owns the moment, whatever that is, whether it’s that picture you just had up there at one of her shows, you know?" Blake also said that Kelce is just willing to "go there." He continued that people "love his personality" and he's a "ton of fun — his brother too." Shelton said he is a fan of both brothers.

When asked if he thinks Taylor Swift and Travis will last as a couple, he said that he did, and the fact that they’re both trying to "kind of put it out there" there’s no sneaking around or trying to tamp things down or keep it on the "down low."

He concluded that when you’re willing to just come out and just kind of put it in "everybody’s face" that you’re together and you’re owning it, "that’s what Gwen and I did."

Shelton has a pretty solid setlist of chart-topping hits when you get to see him live. He'll likely play a lot of those songs when he debuts his Las Vegas Residency in December. But he says that he is hoping to feature a new and different kind of setlist.

Blake told me in an interview a few years ago, "Some of those old songs I had, like 'Austin' and 'Ole Red' and 'Some Beach,' get as big of a reaction still today as my new songs. It shows me that that’s still alive, that sound, that type of music is still alive."

He added, "So fans who bought those older records, I think they’ll be happy when they get to hear some of that stuff on stage. It’s almost like reaching back in time and making it sound like it’s up to date, too."

Shelton also says that his shows are full of his brand of country music, but fans expect the TV star to be funny. So much fun is had at a Blake Shelton concert, and no one goes away without a smile.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
