Kane Brown’s New Song For Dads And Daughters
Kane Brown has been working hard and has a new album that’ll come out in January, and he just recently announced a new tour that kicks off next year.
Among his new songs on The High Road, there’s one called “Backseat Driver,” that deals with being a dad, and his two daughters and now baby son.
We talked to Kane recently, and he told us about that special song.
He told us, “’Backseat Driver’ is a song that’s been going around Nashville for a while, and I’m surprised it fell into my lap. Once I heard it, I just immediately knew. I mean, it’s every Daddy-Daughter song, and every Dad can relate to it, that’s a Dad and has a daughter, or, Mom and son.”
The song’s chorus lyrics are: “Daddy, look, there’s a plane in the sky / Are we there yet? / Did you just see that dog run by? / Do squirrels have houses in the trees? / Why’d God put stingers on honeybees / It’s crazy all the things she sees on the side of the road / Out of that window beside her / I wish I could be more like her / My little dangling feet, pretty in pink, backseat driver.”

Brown recently talked with CMT and revealed that he had to change his baby boy's name after the family heard the first name he had in mind and giggled a bit.
CMT posted part of the interview on their Instagram. In the interview, Kane talks about his family and new music with his wife, Katelyn.
He said in the video clip when asked how his new baby boy got his name, “My go-to is Kasper. I thought it was sick. My wife thought it was cool. We called the family, and they started laughing at us, so we ended up having to change the name.”
Asked about “dad life” and how it’s changed since baby Krewe, Brown said, “It hasn’t really changed much. I’ll say I hang out with my girls a lot. I guess it’s just a new addition. He’s adorable, his cheeks I guess just being as a baby are so puffy so I can’t stop kissing his cheeks.”
Kane also revealed that he has two more duets coming with his wife, Katelyn. He says one is way more country and one is just “blatantly pop.” He said he thinks it’s going to be a massive hit because Kate is an “incredible singer” and she really gets to showcase her voice. One of the new songs is called “Body Talk.”
