As he prepares for this week’s (12/6) release of The Anthology, Part IV: Going Home, Garth Brooks is closing the chapter on another series that’s told its share of stories.
On Monday (12/2), Garth brought to close his long-running tradition of taking people “Inside Studio G” live every Monday evening.
Brooks said, "I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed the last eight years. It’s been great." In the weekly series, Garth took those who joined him places they’d never been – inside the recording process as he created new music, backstage on tour and behind the scenes at events and awards presentations. It also comforted fans during the pandemic, as he – often joined by Trisha Yearwood – used the platform to bring music into our lives at a time when it wasn’t possible for performers to do so.
Those eight years of conversations no doubt helped Garth open up and share more than ever as he worked with others to create the new Anthology, Part IV: Going Home, which takes us to Oklahoma as he returned there in the early 2000s to raise his daughters.

Brooks appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show recently and talked about the project which includes six CDs, and Christmas time. Garth even got emotional talking about his daughters putting ornaments on the Christmas tree.
Kimmel asked Garth when does the Christmas tree go up? The country icon answered, "Well, it usually goes up the day after (Thanksgiving). But we're still doing our gig in Vegas, so we're there the first three weekends of December. So we're all the way up to about three days before Christmas Eve. So, Miss Yearwood said we're starting Christmas now, and that was about three weeks ago. She dragged the Christmas tree out of the basement. It's already up."
He continued, "I can't have enough Christmas. Ornaments are cool, but they have to have a meaning to them. We always decorate with the three girls, right? Garth started to get teary-eyed when talking about his daughters, who are now grown. He said, "We've done that since we've known each other, so the three girls have three bells. And that's the first thing that has to go on the tree. I'm gonna start crying. Sorry. That's the first thing that goes on the tree, and that means Christmas, and that means it's time to love one another. Drop all the silly s--- and have some fun together."
