Wynonna Judd's 28-year-old daughter, Grace Pauline Kelley, currently sits in jail in Virginia after she allegedly stole a Charlottesville church van. This isn't the first time Kelley has been in trouble with the law. She has convictions in Tennessee for methamphetamine production, evading arrest, and driving while intoxicated. She also has pending cases in Georgia and Alabama where she’s been charged with aggravated assault, trespassing, violation of a no-contact order, manufacturing methamphetamine, and multiple allegations of failure to appear.
Kent Hart, pastor of Charlottesville-based Ground Zero Church of the Nazarene, told The Daily Progress, "She didn’t seem like she was in her right mind at all."
Hart said he was in the kitchen at his Scottsville-area home on the afternoon of October 27, when he suddenly saw the van leaving his driveway. He recalled, "I’m talking to my daughter, and I look out the window and I see the van leaving my house." After realizing that nobody in the family had borrowed the van, he gave chase and found the vehicle stopped at the edge of the road with a woman behind the wheel.
After police ran Kelley’s bloodwork, a report revealed that she tested positive for heroin.
Her case returns to Albemarle General District Court on January 2, when she will be represented by the Office of the Public Defender.
In most positive news regarding Judd, she is going to return to The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas for three special performances during National Finals Rodeo week this month.
Wynonna will play her greatest hits in honor of her 40th anniversary as a live entertainer. The shows will take place Wednesday, December 11, Friday, December 13, and Saturday, December 14, 2024, all starting at 8:30 p.m.
The country superstar said in a statement, "Sometimes I feel like you just need to throw a big party for yourself! This is a milestone year for me. Mom and I played our very first show in 1984, which means I've been performing live for 40 years. That's more than half of my life!"
She added, "'The Greatest Hits' celebration is a chance for the fans and me to celebrate. They have been with me for so long, and my hope is that everyone will get to hear their favorite song. How many hits can we fit into one show? Let's find out!"
Judd last appeared at The Venetian Theatre during "The Judds – Girl's Night Out" residency with her mother, Naomi Judd, for a nine-show run in 2015.
