Kelsea Ballerini Dishes On Her ‘Mundane’ Relationship
Kelsea Ballerini discussed her “normal” relationship with her boyfriend Chase Stokes on the cover issue of Byrdie Magazine.
She told the publication in an interview, “I think it’s always an ebb and a flow…From the jump, we’ve always been really proud of our relationship… We’re really building our life together. The more into that season we get, the more protective we are.”
Kelsea added that being protective is the “go-to now and my favorite thing ever.” She says of how normal her relationship is, “I’ll go to the butcher, I’ll get a good cut of steak, I’ll come home and marinate it in the fridge—I won’t even tell him. Then it’s dinner time, and I just pull out this marinated steak, and I’m like, ‘Yes I AM that bitch.'”
Also, in the exclusive article, she says that things that seem mundane suddenly become her saying, “‘Okay, you’re such an important part of my mundanity now.’”
She added that it doesn’t take away from “the moments that are big,” like getting to show up to a premiere for him or being at Madison Square Garden.

Ballerini found a sweet letter from Reba during the season premiere of The Voice on Monday (2/3). Reba coached on seasons 24, 25, and 26.
The letter read in part, “Dear Kelsea, I heard you would be the new coach this season, and I’m just so excited for you. It’s up to you to keep country alive on the show, and I know you’ll do a terrific job. Now go out there and show those boys who’s the boss.”
In the letter, Reba also wrote that she left Ballerini a “little good luck charm in case you need it.”
Kelsea turned to find Reba’s crown from previous seasons — where she was dubbed “Queen Reba.” She placed it on her head and said, “I feel so fancy.”
Ballerini is coaching this season alongside Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine.
