Country Star Colt Ford Survives Near-Fatal Heart Attack, Ready to Tour Again After Remarkable Recovery
After performing a show in Arizona last year, on April 4, 2024, country star Colt Ford had a close call when he suffered two heart attacks, needing three stents to save his life.
Ford said, “The Lord had more for me to do,” reports Penn Live.
Doctors jumped into action when he arrived. Thanks to his band members and friend Brantley Gilbert’s quick thinking, he made it to emergency care just in time.
The scary experience rattled Ford, who was already dealing with health issues. Two years ago, doctors diagnosed him with myasthenia gravis, adding to his health struggles.
Ford had already started making lifestyle changes before his heart attack. His old eating habits – full of fried foods and sodas – had pushed his 5-foot-10 frame up to 340 pounds.
The results speak for themselves. His pants size dropped from 44 to 32 inches. Since his heart attack, he’s lost 60 pounds by eating better and working out regularly.
These days, he stays active on his home treadmill. He now weighs 250 pounds – quite a change from before.
Three years ago, he beat eye cancer with surgery. Despite these health challenges, he’s kept making music – releasing eight albums since 2008.
New music is on the way. Though he’s nervous about performing now, he plans to tour again.
His doctors were amazed he made it. One told him most people don’t survive attacks that severe.
This wake-up call made him completely change how he lives. As he gets ready to perform again, these changes have given him another chance at life.
