Luke Combs: The Country Icon He’s ‘Salty’ About
Luke Combs is at the top of the country music game, playing to sold-out stadiums of fans each weekend, but he has not had one experience that most country stars have already had.
In a recent interview, he said that there is one country music icon he has never come face to face with, and it irritates him.
Luke said, “I would like to run into George Strait. I’ve never met George Strait, ever. I feel like everyone in the world has, and I haven’t.”
He added, “I’m at the point where I’m salty about it.” When asked about when it happens how would he feel, he said, “That would be cool, yeah!”
Strait, known as the King of Country Music, has 61 number-one songs across all country charts. This includes 44 number-one hits on the Billboard country chart, which is more than any other artist.
Combs has scored 20 number-one country songs since 2015, his first being “Hurricane.”

Luke Combs: How He Uses Social Media
Luke often shares new music with his fans on his social media. But he recently asked fans for their opinion on who should duet with him on a new song that he’s working on. On his Instagram, he shared a clip of the song with the question in the caption, “Who should I duet this with?”
In the clip he posted, which is a ballad, he sang the following lyrics: “Years ago, when you thought about what kind of guy you should end up with, it wasn’t me. Sometimes, it feels like I just fooled you into falling for me. God knows where I’d be if I didn’t, that’s a different story.”
Fans were quick to respond with suggestions on Luke’s Instagram. One fan suggested emphatically, “Adele!!!!!” Other fans thought Combs’s next duet should be with Shania Twain, Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson, or Morgan Wallen.
One fan thought the new duet should be with his wife Nicole, the subject of his many love ballads. Kelsea Ballerini, Megan Moroney, and Elle Langley were also mentioned by fans as potential duet partners.
