Jelly Roll: ‘Liar’ Ties A Record
In just 14 weeks, Jelly Roll rocketed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with “Liar.” This marks his seventh straight chart-topper, matching Kane Brown’s run of back-to-back hits.
“Liar” makes history as the second song ever to grab the top spot on both Country Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay charts. His 2023 smash “Need a Favor” was the first to pull off this rare feat.
His 2024 album “Beautifully Broken” jumped to No. 1 on both Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts. Hit-makers Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson, and Taylor Phillips crafted the song, with Zach Crowell handling production.
The accolades keep rolling in for the breakout star. Spring 2023 brought him three CMT Music Awards, including Breakthrough Male Video of the Year. The Country Music Association crowned him New Artist of the Year among five total nominations.
“Whitsitt Chapel,” his earlier album, reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album featured a special take on “Save Me” with Lainey Wilson.
His friendship with Kane Brown has blossomed recently. The duo teamed up for “Haunted,” a heartfelt song about depression on Brown’s latest album “The High Road.” Their connection grew stronger after they patched things up during online gaming sessions.
While “Liar” has dropped from its peak spot, Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph now command the No. 1 position on Country Airplay for five weeks running with “High Road.”
