Lady A Champions Affordable Housing as Cornerstone’s ‘Home for Good’ Project Ambassador for 2025
Lady A will lead Cornerstone Building Brands’ Home for Good project in 2025. The company will donate $500,000 worth of building materials to help build about 100 Habitat for Humanity homes across North America.
This team-up addresses a serious housing crisis. Rising home prices and high interest rates have left many families unable to buy homes. Recent findings from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies show just how serious this problem has become.
While affordable housing builds will reach 70,500 units in 2025, experts say numbers will drop significantly after that. Slow construction starts and rising costs are creating challenges for future building plans.
Over eight years working with Habitat for Humanity, the project has invested $4.1 million in materials and created 825 homes in 150 communities. The coming year marks their ninth partnership.
The band members – Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley, and Hillary Scott – have done more than just support the cause. They’ve worked hands-on, helping with home repairs and storm cleanup alongside Rutherford County’s Habitat team.
“Last year, we saw first-hand the life-changing impact Cornerstone Building Brands has on people in need of a safe, affordable place to call home through this project,” said Hillary Scott, per Cornerstone Building Brands.
Celebrity involvement has helped drive the program’s success. Country stars Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, and Darius Rucker have all served as previous ambassadors, helping shine a light on housing needs.
As construction companies partner with housing groups, they’re making real progress on the affordable housing challenge. The material donations will help create vital homes for families in need of stable housing.
