Thomas Rhett: The Seasons Of Fatherhood
As a father of four daughters who are 9, 7, 5, and 3, Thomas Rhett has learned a lot about parenting over the past nine years.
So, whether it’s guys like Shay Mooney or Jordan Davis, who will be joining the “father of four” club in 2025, or someone like Lauren Alaina, who is expecting her first child this year, we asked Thomas what wisdom he’s learned about being a parent, or even what product recommendations he can share with his fellow parents-to-be.
Thomas told us recently, “I think the biggest lesson that I’ve learned is that being a parent is freakin’ hard. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. And I think that learning that each phase of your baby or babies’ lives, it truly is a season. Right? So, it just so happens that all of our kids are in different seasons of life, which means navigating four seasons of life for me and Lauren.”

He continued, “And I think you think that, ‘God, if we can just get past this season, we will be in such a better spot.’ But then, now they’ve got homework that you don’t understand, and like, they’re starting to do math, not the way that I did math when I was little. And so, it’s like, then you take that season as it comes, and you pour your heart and soul into that season, and then you prepare for the next one, and that’s what life is as a whole.”
The country star concluded, “I think when it comes to babies you go, ‘Okay this is a season. It feels like it’s lasting in eternity, but it will end, and something else will come.’ And just having a joyful heart about it rather than immediately going into panic mode. And also, get a Doona. It’s a car seat that also folds out into a stroller. Game changer.”
