Kelsea Ballerini Reflects on Surprising ‘Southern Charm’ Cameo and Missed Date With Craig Conover
Back in 2014, Kelsea Ballerini accidentally found herself caught up in bidding on a date with Craig Conover during “Southern Charm” Season 2. The date never ended up happening.
Cosmopolitan Cosmopolitan got answers from Ballerini, “Oh god, it haunts me forever.”
During a radio tour she was doing a show on a boat for the station where they happened to be filming Southern Charm as well. Unbeknownst to her, her record label set it up and pushed her into participating. The winning bid went to charity through the station – she didn’t pay for it herself.
The unexpected TV appearance caught the young singer by surprise. She was just starting out as a new artist doing promo work.
When the scene aired in Season 2, viewers could see her looking uncomfortable as the bids kept going up.
Years later, both stars went their separate ways. Ballerini started dating Chase Stokes in 2023 after sliding into his DMs first.
Meanwhile, Conover split from Paige DeSorbo after three years together. He’s now avoiding dating apps, wanting to meet people naturally instead.
What seemed like a huge deal at the time is now just a small blip in Ballerini’s impressive career. She’s grown from those early promo days into a major country music star.
