Carly Pearce Doesn’t Write ‘All Sunshine And Rainbows’
As we reported last week, Carly Pearce is releasing a deluxe version of her latest album on March 14. hummingbird: no rain, no flowers will feature three new songs, including “no rain,” which inspired the title of the deluxe album, and two acoustic versions of fan-favorite songs off of hummingbird.
When sharing the news on social media, Carly wrote, “‘hummingbird’ was my healing journey after ‘29.’ I felt like there were a few more songs to be shared before I close this chapter.” But even after she closes this chapter, Pearce says there will still be sad songs and songs about heartbreak and healing.
Carly told us in a recent interview, “I don’t really know that I am ever going to be an artist that is going to write all sunshine and rainbows and all happy songs. Because honestly, that’s just not real life, and for me, music is cathartic, and I have found so much joy in the journey.”

She concluded, “And in the journey, it doesn’t mean that it’s gonna just all of a sudden be happy. It’s kind of just finding happiness with where you’re at, and maybe that looks different for you than it does your friend, but that doesn’t mean that you’re anywhere except exactly where you’re supposed to be.”
By the way, get well wishes go out to the country star, who shared on social media last weekend that she is currently overseas battling a nasty case of the flu. She has a few shows left in Ireland that she is hoping she won’t have to cancel.
Carly wrote on Instagram a few days ago, “Yall, the last few days I have been battling feeling sick but yesterday the flu hit me right in the face. God has a funny sense of humor sometimes… these shows are some of the biggest sold-out shows of my career & of course, this would happen, right?!”
She continued, “BUT!!! With the help of my doctor & team, we WILL finish out this tour strong and I will give you EVERYTHING I have. Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow & Dublin- if the shows look a little different, know that I promise to show up each night giving you my all. I love y’all so much & DONT GET THIS FLU.”
Pearce concluded the post, “Last week in Europe let’s do this!!! Prayers appreciated “
