Reba, McGraw, Jelly Roll Bring Rodeo To Nashville
Music City Rodeo, Nashville’s first-ever Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo, will come to Bridgestone Arena on May 29, 30, and 31. Music City Rodeo founding members Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, and Jelly Roll will headline a concert at the venue each night.
In the daytime, the arena will feature bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, and broncs, with cowboys and cowgirls competing for over $200,000 in prizes.
Tickets for Music City Rodeo go on sale on March 7.
Reba said in a statement, “It’s no secret that rodeo is in my blood, and I’m thrilled to be a part of starting a new Nashville tradition. Country music and rodeo coming together in Music City, what a perfect combination…I just knew I had to be part of it.”
The Music City Rodeo website says, in part, “For decades, Nashville’s sound has been the backdrop to rodeos across America. Now it’s time to bring it all home. The Music City Rodeo is more than an event – it’s a celebration of everything that makes country culture the coolest thing around. Across three nights, over 50,000 fans will enjoy two great American traditions while creating an unforgettable experience in the heart of Nashville.”
Reba narrated the promo video announcing the new venture.
The country Queen also posted on Instagram, writing, “For the first time, the rodeo is riding into Music City. Join us May 29–31 for three nights of guts, glory, and history at the Music City Rodeo—Nashville’s first @prca_prorodeo —featuring performances by @reba, @jellyroll615 and @thetimmcgraw. In other news, McEntire’s NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place, got renewed on the network for a second season, and the country icon and her show co-stars are thrilled with the news.
Reba shared a video clip on Instagram of her telling the cast and crew about the renewal while they held hands in the set’s kitchen. When Reba revealed the show got picked up for a second season, some of the cast cried, and they all hugged one another, including Reba and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, who embraced. Reba said to the camera as she cried a bit, “Tears of joy. We got picked up for a second season right before we are going on to do the last show of this season. What a gift.”
The country icon captioned the post, “Next round is on us. Season 2 of #HappysPlace is coming to NBC.”
