We use Uber and Lyft when we need a ride. When vacationing we check out Airbnb and VRBO. But what do you do when you just want to take a dip in a pool? There’s an app for that and it makes for the ultimate staycation.

In a world that moves faster every day, the idea of a staycation has become more appealing than ever. No airport lines, no packing stress. Just the comfort of home paired with simple, local pleasures. Staycations offer the chance to unwind without the usual chaos of travel, letting you rediscover the beauty in your own backyard.

Swimply the Ultimate Staycation

One standout way to elevate a staycation is by using Swimply, a platform that lets you rent private pools by the hour. Whether you're planning a solo escape, a family afternoon, or a romantic evening under the stars, Swimply turns an ordinary day into a mini getaway. The app connects users with stunning, well-maintained private pools, often complete with lounge areas, grills, and hot tubs. And some let you take your pets!

Swimply is still a relatively new venture, so you might experience some growing pains. In the post below, a neighbor commented that Swimply is terrible for neighbors. Perhaps the rule I read happened after enough complaints, but it is a requirement that neighbors be notified about upcoming events and are even given a way to report any disruptions.

How It Started

And I love how it came to be … Bunim Laskin, the brainchild of Swimply, had the idea to offer pools to people who don’t have them. He looked on Google Maps and went door to door asking people if they would be interested in offering their pool area for his app. He started with four pools and now has properties in 150 different cities.

Instead of fighting for space at a crowded public pool or traveling miles to reach a beach, Swimply brings luxury and privacy right to your neighborhood. It’s an affordable indulgence that feels anything but ordinary. In the end, staycations aren’t about where you go—they're about how you feel. And with Swimply, relaxation, fun, and a splash of serenity are just a few taps away.
