Homecoming dance, it's a staple in American high schools across the country but it doesn't always go to plan. In an effort to make people feel better about their impending fails, I wrote a song encompassing all of the fails that COULD happen at Homecoming. Keep in mind, I was tasked by the Summers Squad to write this in only ten minutes and this is what I came up with.

What song are we singing? Well of course, Chase McDaniel's smash hit "Burned Down Heaven" because the vibe fits exactly what we are thinking.

Homecoming Dance song that will make you laugh

We all had great or not so great times at the dance, homecoming can be very stressful so I wrote this song about it!

Sing A Long!

Homecoming Night, I’m nervous

I have a date, pretty she is

I got a suit, and bought her flowers

But what I didn’t know, was impending showers

I wiped out on my way in, and ripped my pants

Hear what I am sayin, I didn’t have a chance

Spilled some punch on my shirt, and then I lost my date

When I finally found her I called her the wrong name

Feels like I failed at homecoming

How Did Ten Minute Tune Start?

One could argue that I have been singing these types of songs my entire life. I used to love listening to the radio in the car, changing the lyrics to my favorites songs in my head to make them sound funny. Little did I know I would make a career out of this little hobby.

I grew up a theater kid, performing at stage since I was 10 years old. So singing and performing has always been something that I've loved to do. I took piano lessons since the age of six years old and was heavily involved in choir as well. When I got to college, I was a founding member of the a cappella group, Otto Tunes, on the campus of Syracuse University!

It took us a semester to become an official student organization on campus. Here was our FIRST performance after becoming official. It’s Gavin DeGraw’s “Not Over You.”
