“Do I Take The Higher Paying Job, Even Though It’s Outside My Degree?”
Justin writes:
I’ve spent the past several years earning a degree and IT certifications to advance my tech career and now I’ve unexpectedly received a fantastic job offer in a completely different field.
It’s a great opportunity, but I’m conflicted about stepping away from all that training and effort – and I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge all the work and money my parents gave me to pursue my IT aspirations.
Would accepting this new job mean it was all for nothing? Is it okay for me to pivot from my training and follow the money?
