“Am I Wrong For Wanting To Throw Out My Childhood Things?”
Allyson writes:
My mom has held onto every single piece of my childhood. It is in fifteen banker boxes, including every macaroni sculpture and little painting I ever did. My husband said we have room for two boxes in our apartment. My mom wants me to get a storage unit, she’s willing to split the cost with me, She says, when we get a house, we are going to want to have these memories.
I disagree and quite frankly I don’t really need this stuff. Do I do the storage unit with my mom, just for now, to make her happy, or do what my husband and I think is right, go through it and get it down to a box or two and break my mom’s heart?
